September is Newborn Hearing Screening Awareness Month! There are many different ways to test a child’s hearing, such as letting them sleep. Since newborns and infants aren’t able to raise their hand for traditional hearing screenings, pediatric audiologists use a test called an Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) to assess a child’s hearing while they sleep. To learn more about the process and what to expect during your child’s ABR test, visit our website at https://lnkd.in/g_tHE3hc

We want to give a special thank you to James, one of our long-time volunteers and a young philanthropist, for diligently working this summer on a neighborhood book drive benefitting our Audiology Clinic's library. "I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community through this fundraising endeavor benefiting the Audiology Department at the Texas Hearing Institute,” James said. We are incredibly thankful to you for continuing to make an impact on our families and community! 💙
