At Surgimate, we encourage our team members to take a company-sponsored day off (a “SurgiGive day”) to volunteer with a nonprofit of their choice, empowering us to build into our communities and support the causes that inspire us. Our VP of Marketing, Laura Eakes, used her SurgiGive day to volunteer at Mission Wolf, a sanctuary nestled in the Colorado mountains. Mission Wolf provides a safe home for wolves and wolf dogs rescued from captivity, giving them a place to live with dignity while educating the public on the crucial role these animals play in our ecosystem. Laura’s day was packed with activities, from maintaining enclosures to preparing educational materials for visitors. The most memorable part? Witnessing the wolves and wolf puppies up close! She learned that to greet a wolf, you should bare your teeth and make eye contact—an invitation that might earn you a full lick of approval! 🐺 Volunteering with Mission Wolf was a chance for Laura to support wolf conservation efforts, an issue close to her heart in her home state of Colorado.
