In recognition of those who have served our country, the Office of Equal Opportunity - Missouri, in partnership with other agencies, hosted the State's Veterans Day Celebration today in the Harry S Truman Building. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, State Representative Dave Griffith, Missouri Department Of Revenue Director Wayne Wallingford, and Executive Director Paul Kirchhoff of the Missouri Veterans Commission for their inspiring and emotional remarks. We also want to thank the Smith-Cotton High School JROTC Drill Team for their performance and to the 135th Army Band of the Missouri National Guard for providing music at the conclusion of the ceremony in the 2nd Floor atrium. Exhibitors from organizations were also on hand to provide information about resources available for our Veterans. Today’s event was a meaningful tribute to those who have served and sacrificed, ensuring our freedoms that we enjoy today. Thank you to all our volunteers, speakers, agencies, and organizations who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Most importantly, we thank our Veterans. In recognition of State Team Members who have served our country, the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO), in partnership with other agencies, is hosting a Veterans Day Celebration event on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. on the South Lawn of the State Capitol Building in Jefferson City. As part of this event, we will have exhibitors from the following organizations to provide information about the resources available to veterans: • Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development (Veterans Services) • Department of Mental Health (Veterans Services) • Missouri Veterans Commission • Veterans Urban Farm • K9s on The Front Line • Missouri State Parks • Columbia VET Center The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation will also be present at the event to promote the toy drive campaign. Donation boxes have been placed throughout the Harry S Truman State Office Building. The toy drive campaign will conclude on Dec. 6. In addition to the veteran resources, the celebration will also feature remarks by Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe, State Representative Dave Griffith, Director of Revenue Wayne Wallingford, and Executive Director Paul Kirchhoff of the Missouri Veterans Commission, a drill team performance, music from the 135th Army Marching Band, and food trucks at the north side of the Missouri State Capitol. NOTE: In the event of rain or severe weather, the Veterans Day Celebration will be held at the Harry S Truman State Office Building in Room 490/492.

Throughout the event, exhibitors from organizations provided information about resources available for individuals with disabilities. NDEAM is a testament to the ongoing efforts to provide individuals with disabilities access to meaningful and fulfilling employment opportunities. This year's theme, "Access to Good Jobs for All," serves as an inspiration for the event.
