ICYMI: U.S. Department of the Treasury finalized rules around two major solar manufacturing tax credits last week, Section 48D and Section 45X. These crucial steps will help supercharge American manufacturing and dramatically expand our domestic #solar supply chain. Here's why⤵️ On Tuesday, Treasury clarified that solar ingot and wafer production facilities and equipment qualify for the Section 48D 25% investment tax credit under the CHIPS Act. While the U.S. is a global leader in module manufacturing, we don’t have any ingot and wafer facilities in operation yet. This clarity is a thoughtful approach to industrial policy and will dramatically expand the upstream development of the solar supply chain. Read SEIA's statement: https://lnkd.in/ecYRwg7U On Thursday, Treasury issued final rules for the Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit under Section 45X. Section 45X is one of the most influential policies we have to onshore the solar supply chain and clarity here is key. These rules provide the certainty domestic solar and storage manufacturers need to move forward with their investments. Read SEIA's statement: https://lnkd.in/ekczuj4g
