Exciting news! We've announced an additional session of Sea-Bird University: Advanced Data Processing – Ship Heave and Data Reduction Join us to learn about advanced data processing when profiling with the Sea-Bird Scientific Technical Support team. We will discuss the removal of the fairly gross effects of ship heave and talk about bin averaging your final data. When we finish this module you should be able to remove data artifacts caused by ship heave and bin average to reduce your data set, producing data at even pressure or depth values for the 911plus, 19plusV2, and SBE 25plus. 📅 Wednesday, November 13 🕐 8am PT 📍 Via Zoom Register now to secure your spot! #SeaBirdScientific #OceanScience https://bit.ly/3YcZBNJ

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's Senior Scientist Benjamin Van Mooy named 2024 MacArthur Fellow. 💫 "Van Mooy’s research has broad implications on understanding of how the ocean impacts and can help regulate climate. His work focuses on the many ways microbial organisms like plankton contribute to maintaining the health of marine environments and play critical roles in nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon cycling in the ocean. In particular, his research on planktonic lipid dynamics sheds light on how changes to marine ecosystems can impact food webs, carbon sequestration, climate regulation, and other biogeochemical processes."
