Physicians Regional Milestone✨ Earlier this week Physicians Regional Collier Blvd took the first step toward the development of the Physicians Regional Robotic Brain and Spine Neurosurgery Program. The staff and independent medical staff neurosurgeons Dr. Amanda Sacino and Dr. Gregory Cannarsa performed a minimally invasive spine surgery with a new robotic navigation system. The surgeons utilized the new technology to precisely target regions in the spine where surgery is needed. This increase in precision and accuracy also allows the surgeons to operate through small incisions along the spine resulting in less healing time for the patient and significantly better outcomes. This robot and new state of the art technology allows for more accuracy when it comes to procedures for most conditions of the spine including degenerative disc disease, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, spine fractures, spine tumors, and deformity. This week may be coming to an end, but the recovery from Hurricanes Helene and Milton will take a very long time. CHS hospitals in Florida were prepared for the devastating storms this week and we want to thank our health system teams for all they did to get ready, keep patients and staff safe, and ensure quality health services remained available wherever possible. Teamwork. Courage. Commitment. Resiliency. These attributes apply to the women and men who take care of patients and support health services every day - and this week we needed you more than ever. Our hearts go out to everyone who suffered as a result of the hurricanes and we want you to know that as we move forward with recovery, we're with you and will be with you in the days ahead.
