  • Our license to operate rests in our ability to operate our manufacturing and distribution sites in environmentally and operationally safe ways. And we need to be ready to respond in the unfortunate occurrence of an accident. That’s why our teams take part in emergency response drills across our organization. This past week, Par Hawaii employees worked with the the U.S. Coast Guard, the Hawai’i Department of Health and other specialists on an exercise that tested our ability to respond to an emergency scenario in Maui. The teamwork and learning experience was outstanding. Thank you to all those in Par Pacific who are ready to respond when we need them.

  • October is National Manufacturing Month, celebrating the amazing work done by manufacturers large and small across the United States. All of us at Par Pacific are proud of the great work done by the manufacturing sites across our system in Kapolei, HI, Tacoma, WA, Billings, MT and Newcastle, WY. Those four sites have 219,000 barrels per day of refining capacity and supported by a logistics network that includes 13 million barrels of storage along with marine, rail and pipeline assets. We appreciate all our employees who safely make and distribute our products.

Patti started with the company as a receptionist at age 18. She embraced a new role as credit manager while pursuing her college degree. She moved into a job in marketing, where she found her passion for strategy and business growth. Throughout multiple changes in leadership and ownership, Patti’s unwavering commitment to the company was a constant. Her leadership roles have included Senior VP of Marketing and Supply to her current role as Head of Rocky Mountain Clean Product Marketing. Over the past four-plus decades, Patti has demonstrated fierce loyalty. Her advice to others is simple yet profound: “Take pride in your work, your company and your relationships.” Thank you, Patti, for 45 years of exceptional personal dedication and professional service. • We’re proud of the Par Hawaii and Hele teams who are continually making a difference in communities where they work. Case in point is the 6th annual Par Hawaii Charity Golf Tournament held recently at the Kapolei Golf Club. The tournament is one of the best ones in the state and contributes much to the wellbeing of citizens. More than 200 golfers took part this year and the proceeds benefited Hawaii Meals on Wheels and Hui O Ho’ohonua, who each received $25,000. All of us at Par Pacific say Mahalo to all the sponsors, volunteers and individual golfers at this great event!

  • Par Pacific has a highly-trained cadre of people who are ready to respond to any emergency. In order to do that, we diligently train with community, state and federal partners so we can all be as prepared as possible. In the course of the past two weeks, our logistics and fuels terminal operations teams trained on emergency response scenarios in Bozeman and Helena, Montana as well as Spokane, Washington. Our focus on safety and preparedness never waivers.
