Congratulations to the Class of 2024! We are proud to announce the graduates and scholarship recipients of Monroe Harding's Class of 2024. These exceptional young adults have successfully graduated from high school and completed the HiSet and Penn Foster Program or Post-Secondary through our programs at the Resource Center or traditional settings. In addition, several were recipients of the Monroe Harding Scholarship fund. Thank you to the 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐜𝐋𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for providing graduation incentives to our young adults. Monroe Harding's Resource Center has collaborated with Slim & Husky's Pizza Beeria and The Nashville Food Project to launch its inaugural Workforce Development Culinary Program. The program has successfully concluded with a Capstone event, where our talented young adults showcased their culinary skills by presenting a variety of delicious food creations. Makiya, one of Monroe Harding’s young adults participating in our Supportive Housing and Resource Center programs, had a dream come true this week. Through @churchofthecity “Cars for the City” ministry, Makiya was one of ten gifted a car! “Having a car will change my life and allow me to become more independent with getting back and forth to work. Or even helping me with transportation to further my education,” said Makiya. In addition, through the Opportunity Passport Program, Monroe Harding’s matched-savings program that helps young people build savings accounts and purchase financial assets, she obtained her insurance, tags and title. Makiya’s journey from foster care to a successful extension of foster care and now new opportunities, reflects the profound impact of community collaboration and our commitment to empowering young individuals on their path to independence.
