ACMA Massachusetts Chapter Conference Earlier this month, Terry Halliday, Managing Director of Integrated Services and Managed Care, and Jillian Hemeon, Area Director of Community Relations, proudly represented Legacy Lifecare at the 7th Annual 2024 American Case Management Association (ACMA) Massachusetts Chapter Conference! The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with nurses, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in case management and transitions of care. Attendees shared knowledge, explored the latest healthcare innovations, and discussed practical strategies to address challenges across the continuum of care. Terry and Jillian were excited to learn from top subject-matter experts and exchange experiences with fellow professionals. 16th Annual ALS & MS Walk for Living Brings Community Together On a beautiful fall morning, hundreds of walkers—plus some adorable dogs—gathered at Leonard Florence Center for Living located in Chelsea for the 16th Annual ALS & MS Walk for Living! This two-mile walk, around Chelsea’s, Admirals Hill, held on October 6, welcomed participants of all abilities, with walkers using wheelchairs, ventilators, or walking on foot. Thanks to your generous support, we met our $100,000 fundraising goal, with all proceeds benefiting the residents at the Leonard Florence Center for Living. A huge shoutout to honoree Jeffrey Siegal, President & CEO of Geriatric Medical & Surgical Supply, whose heartfelt speech highlighted his company’s long-standing relationship with Chelsea Jewish Lifecare. It was amazing to see his team come out in full force to support this cause! Maria Stephanos, WCVB Channel 5 anchor and Walk ambassador, reminded us of the true meaning of "living" in the Leonard Florence Center’s name. "Walking into the center, you immediately feel this is a special place," she said. The day was filled with joy and fun, including a spectacular hip-hop dance performance by Phantom Phenomenon , a petting zoo , face painting , and a delicious BBQ sponsored by Chili’s. We’re beyond grateful to all our sponsors, including Geriatric Medical (Platinum), A.H.O. A. (Gold), and Independent Newspaper Group (Media Sponsor). Thank you to the Peabody Lynnfield Weekly News for highlighting this incredible experience that some of our residents enjoyed earlier this week. Jack York brought his Vintage Voices van to Harriet & Ralph Kaplan Estates, where he interviewed residents Rose Quarato (103), Charlie Kanter (99), and Jenny Ruggiero (99) during a special visit. As they drove around the city, each shared life stories, advice, and laughter. Vintage Voices, a project by York’s company, TaleGate, focuses on celebrating the lives of people aged 100 or older across the country. Through these interviews, York aims to elevate aging and showcase the incredible experiences of seniors. Thank you to Jack and the team for shining a light on our residents' remarkable stories!
