Founded in 1997, LawWorks is a national charity working with solicitors to support, promote and encourage a commitment to pro bono across the profession. LawWorks facilitates the provision of legal advice and assistance to individuals and not-for-profit organisations unable to access legal aid and unable to afford legal representation. LawWorks also provides lawyers who want to volunteer their legal skills with a wide variety of pro bono opportunities.     Do you want to help make a real difference? On Friday, 8th November, I’ll be doing an amateur boxing match at The Ashcroft in Whitworth to raise money for Solicitors Pro Bono Group (LawWorks). Every donation will support access to justice for those who can’t afford legal representation.     The Law School Challenge is back for 2024/25! We are looking for law students from universities across the UK to compete and go head-to-head to raise the most funds for legal charities Advocate and LawWorks to support them in facilitating free legal advice and to raise awareness of the services available to those in need. The winning team, alongside raising vital funds for these pro bono charities, will be invited to the LawWorks Student Pro Bono Awards at the House of Lords in April 2025 and will be awarded the Student Pro Bono Award from the Attorney General. Prizes Include: ·       Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for teams that raise £500, £1000, and £2000. ·       Early Bird and Midway Prizes ·       Invitations to the Student Pro Bono Awards at the House of Lords ·       Certification of participation for individual team members; rewarding creativity shown, skills developed and best participant nationally.
