Wartime shipyard childcare centers, pioneered by Henry J. Kaiser in 1943, set new standards for early childhood education. These centers, serving over 7,000 children, were led by experts and laid the groundwork for modern childcare practices. Their influence continues to shape the field today. https://k-p.li/3zmXFdq: #kphistory

Our leaders shared insights with thousands of health care influencers from around the globe this week at #HLTH2024 to boldly discuss the future. Their message: #ValueBasedCare is health care that works. Let’s collaborate on transforming the future. Highlights: Chair and CEO Greg Adams was the opening keynote highlighting that our integrated care and coverage model is core to everything we do, “providing us the foundation to manage through industry challenges and headwinds while owning the evolution of our enterprise so we can bring value-based care to more people.” VP of AI and emerging technologies Daniel Yang, MD, shared “the rate limiting factors for deploying AI at scale are not technological. If we’re going to be successful in deriving meaningful value from AI we should instead be focusing our attention on building out the ‘human stack’ – people, processes, policy, and problems.” Southern California Permanente Medical Group leader Nolan Chang, MD, centered on driving outcomes and keeping patients in the center. “That is where value-based platforms helping to manage transitions in care are critically important in delivering value for patients as a whole.” KP physician in South King County, Wash., Raj Sundar, MD, made the value-based care connection through equity. "There's a critical shortage of culturally responsive health care workers in underserved communities. Kaiser Permanente is developing a diverse pipeline to address those gaps and ensure equitable access to care." National Leader for Mental Health and Wellness Don Mordecai, MD, talked about reaching people where they are to reduce stigma and provide resources. Our #PresenceOfMind work presents gamer-influencers modeling “conversations about mental health with one another in places where youth already engage.”

“An algorithm itself doesn’t save lives. If an alert is flagged, trained clinicians review the chart & activate to determine next steps. At the end of the day, clinicians save lives, but they can be augmented by #AI.” Daniel Yang, MD, at #HLTHEVENT AI supporting care. HLTH USA
