INLIVIAN works hand-in-hand with quality service providers for supportive services and as a result, we continue to evolve as a collaborative leader, helping to provide solutions to housing issues in Charlotte and the surrounding area. We do this through developing real estate, managing those assets, and providing caring case management and self-sufficiency programs.

INLIVIAN traded in its blue and for PINK in recognition of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth! Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American women. Research shows 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. "In 2024, an estimated 310,720 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer," according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Here are quick facts you should know: 🔘 Breast cancer mainly occurs in middle-aged and older women, with a median age of 62. 🔘 The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammograms for women ages 45 to 54 and mammograms every other year for women 55+ 🔘 White, Asian, and Pacific Islander women are more likely to be diagnosed with localized breast cancer than Black, Hispanic, American Indian, and Alaska Native women. However, Black women have the highest death rate from breast cancer. This is thought to be partially because about 1 in 5 Black women with breast cancer have triple-negative breast cancer - more than any other racial or ethnic group. In North Carolina, we are fortunate to have organizations that support cancer patients: 🔘 Pretty In Pink Foundation provides financial assistance for uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients. 🔘 Atrium Health's Sandra Levine Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program supports women 45 years and younger. 🔘 Carolina Breast Friends' Pink House is open to survivors and thrivers in need of a positive environment with access to resources, education, and fellowship at any stage of their journey. #INLIVIANcares #WeFightTogether #PinkOctober #WearPink #BreastCancer #INLIVIAN #CharlotteHousing

#HurricaneHelene has left senior and disable residents of our sister agencies in despair without power and water. INLIVIAN took action, collecting supplies, food and water to send to Asheville and Spartanburg. Thank you every employee and donor who offered your time and resources to shop across the city of Charlotte to help us provide for families impacted.

Our CORE and Resident Advisory Council (RAC) teams are busy attending the National Alliance of Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing (NARSAAH) conference. Congratulations to our very Board of Commissioners Vice Chair and RAC member, Maurice Robinson for being inducted in the inaugural class of NARSAAH Hall of Fame. 🎉

Southside Homes is more than just a place for many people—it's a part of who they are, including Tiawana Brown CCHW, CPSS, Charlotte City Council who represents Charlotte’s District 3 and has a deep love for where she grew up. Councilwoman Brown’s story shows the importance of community, perseverance, and staying true to your roots. Her journey from Southside Homes to city leadership is a powerful example of how love and determination can make a big difference. #INLIVIAN #INLIVIAN85YearsofImpact
