At the heart of our Redondo Beach facility is our machine shop, where engineers and technicians collaborate to turn innovative ideas into reality. With our vertically integrated approach, we can iterate quickly, solve problems on the spot, and manufacture robust development and flight hardware around the clock. It’s this hands-on teamwork and in-house expertise that drive our progress in in-space transportation. #ImpulseSpace #EngineeringExcellence #SpaceTech

A few of our Saiph thrusters fresh off the printer. Named after a small blue star in the Orion constellation, Saiph is capable of generating 6 pound-force, or 26 Newtons — high thrust and fine control for rendezvous, proximity, and space situational awareness operations. #impulsespace #spaceinnovation #3dprinting

Meet the talented individuals behind Impulse Space’s cutting-edge advancements in in-space transportation — including our avionics technician, Jessica Moro. ⚡️ We recently asked Jessica about her experiences at Impulse, her favorite projects, and what inspired her journey into the space industry. 🌌 Q: What’s one of your favorite projects that you’ve worked on since you’ve been at Impulse? Jessica: I wouldn’t call it a single project, but one of the highlights for me was working hands-on with our Mira vehicle. Helping my coworker Jonny with integration when he needed assistance and knowing that some of the PCBA’s and harnesses I worked on are part of Mira really excites me. Contributing to such a significant mission is an incredible feeling. Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Impulse? Jessica: Working at Impulse brings me so much joy because I get to be involved in a bit of everything — assembling batteries, working with PCBA’s and PCB’s, handling mechanical components, harnessing, integration, even shipping and receiving. The variety keeps things exciting, and knowing that the work I do is making history and going to space is incredibly fulfilling. Q: What inspired you to want to work in the space industry? Jessica: My inspiration for working in the space industry came from my time at SpaceX, where I spent 10 and a half years. I actually started in the kitchen, doing inventory and stocking coffee cups, but I eventually became an apprentice and worked my way up to the technician I am today. Over the years, I not only learned a lot about the industry, but I also developed a deep passion for it. That journey is what led me to where I am now, loving every part of this field. 🌠 Want to work on projects that are transforming space exploration? At Impulse Space, we're driven by a philosophy of vertical integration. As CEO and founder Thomas Mueller explains, this approach, "while demanding, allows us to reduce integration time, minimize potential points of failure, and, most importantly, ensure that every component is optimized for its role in pushing the boundaries of space exploration." 🌌 #impulsespace #verticalintegration #engineering

⚙️ Our SN-001 Deneb engine assembly is underway as our team puts on the finishing touches and prepares for testing. The core of our Helios vehicle, Deneb delivers a powerful 15,000 lbf thrust that helps us deliver over five tons from LEO to GEO in under a day — cutting down on the months it might otherwise take with electric propulsion. 🔥 This powerhouse engine, designed by Thomas Mueller, contains our pictured thrust chamber assembly and powerpack, consisting of a 3D-printed turbopump and pre-burner. Deneb's precision engineering with state-of-the-art technology ensures top-notch performance and reliability for all missions. 🌌 In addition to being one of the fastest ways to get to GEO, Helios is also the most economical way to reach our inner solar system when paired with a low-cost LEO launch. 🚀 Want to learn more about our our solution for direct insertion into GEO and other high-energy orbits? Ever wondered why 3D printing is so useful in aerospace applications? 🚀 Ryan Holbrook, an additive engineer here at Impulse Space, has the answer. By 3D printing the majority of our engine parts in-house, we unlock new possibilities that traditional manufacturing can't offer. From cooling channels to complex geometries, additive manufacturing allows us to optimize performance while accelerating development. With full control over the process—from material feedstock to post-print quality checks—we ensure precision at every step. The result? High-performance propulsion systems that push the boundaries of in-space transportation. #3DPrinting #SpaceTechnology #ImpulseSpace
