It’s about time buildings built better businesses.

About us

The purpose of constructing a building is not to construct a building. It’s to create a place for organizations to thrive. Buildings are not meant to serve themselves, because it’s not really about the space. Buildings are meant to help the people inside them do better work, in better ways. Why is it then that we focus so much on the construction phase of a building, when its true purpose begins only after the last nail has been hammered into place? While construction focuses on the needs of today, a building must continue to help drive the objectives of a business far into the future. The building is not an end unto itself, but a means to a more deep and meaningful influence on the people inside it. Improve Group is a construction innovator with millions of dollars under contract, new modular construction technology, unheard of completion speeds, and an unrivaled integrated process. We want to continue to grow while improving the lives of more people and organizations. We are willing to take risks, innovate, and move quickly, which makes us confident we’ll not only reach our vision for growth, but will ensure our continued success for the long term. Leaders here must be willing to move fast, serve the team before serving the self and invest in building a strong culture. In our fast-paced work environment, that’s not always easy, but we have a great team and a deep sense for the purpose of what we’re trying to achieve.

This building is a catalyst to where we’re going, and a seed of what’s to come for New Mexico.   We have our sights set on disrupting the status quo in construction because we believe buildings can be built faster, smarter, better. Buildings that don't cost more. Buildings that are more impactful for the people who use them. It's about speed, disruption, and doing construction differently than the way it’s been done before.   A huge thanks to New Mexico United for their partnership and trusting us with this opportunity. Somos Unidos!   Project: New Mexico United Training Facility | 2,400 SQ FT | Built in < 60 Days | Modular Interiors & Exteriors Used for Speed and Flexibility | Costs Comparable to Traditional Site-Built Construction Methods

Did you know that modular construction can increase efficiency by up to 50% and reduce building time by 20-50%? Sometimes referred to as industrial design and construction, IDC offers significant cost savings, improved quality, and faster project completion, transforming the construction industry. So why hasn’t this method been widely adopted yet? Barriers include a reluctance to shift from traditional construction methods, lack of trust in construction partners and an unwillingness to accept more risk, high initial investment costs, and a lack of skilled labor. #ConstructionInnovation #Modular #Efficiency #FutureOfConstruction https://lnkd.in/dipPXuYC

Innovative Modular Construction Technology Brings Long-Awaited Community Hub to Life in Historic Neighborhood The City of Albuquerque recently completed construction on its new 5,300 sq ft Multigenerational Center in the historic Santa Barbara-Martineztown neighborhood in Albuquerque. This cutting-edge project was the first of its kind for the city to undertake, making use of prefabricated exterior and interior construction materials by ZS2 Technologies and Falkbuilt Ltd.. Neighbors have waited many years to have a safe gathering space like this in the heart of their community. The multigenerational center will provide space for both senior and children's sports and activities, meals for the community, and many group classes and gatherings. “Our investments into Albuquerque’s multigenerational centers continue to improve quality of life for residents all across our city," said Mayor Tim Keller in a release, "This new center in Santa Barbara-Martineztown will serve as a joyful gathering place for the community who will now enjoy access quality amenities at a fun, safe facility in the heart of the city.” The space includes a large multi-purpose room that can be divided into two separate spaces, multiple classrooms, an administrative area, and a pantry for serving meals to the community. The prefabricated building materials used for both the exterior and interior walls were a first for a municipal project like this. The city took a bold step in electing to use these new construction technologies which increased speed to install and lowered costs overall. The center was designed and constructed in less than 1 year due to the coordinated efforts between project partners and the cooperation of the City's team. A space shouldn’t just accommodate logistical needs, but also communicate timeless principles of the organization. From reminders of their purpose to their culture, the space should help those in the building feel engaged with the mission.

Missions that Matter: transforming spaces for those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Darley is our partner in the spotlight this month. Our relationship with Darley goes back many years, many projects, and many military bases. Darley is a DLA Prime Contractor that provides its clients with alternative acquisition pathways that result in faster project delivery, shortened timelines, and decreased costs. Since 2018, Darley and Improve Group have worked together modernizing spaces across the country for those who have bravely chosen to protect and defend our freedom. These modernization efforts have spanned a vast number of space types including offices, conference rooms, learning spaces, maintenance facilities, and more. We’ve been honored to work alongside them at Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Stewart, USACE East Chicago, Fort Riley, Fort Carson, Fort Bliss, Fort Campbell, JBLM and more. Thank you to the full Darley team for the continued opportunities to work together, supporting the warfighter by providing high-impact, functional spaces that support the mission.

Preparing for the future fight in an austere, realistic training environment. The future fight will require a soldier that is holistically trained; one that has on-the-ground experience before facing real-world threats. The 351st SWTS is pioneering the future of training for the Air Force. As part of its overall training modernization, the squadron has constructed a new Forward Operating Base (FOB) that seeks to aid warfighters in their training journey by providing real-time, real-world scenarios that require students to simultaneously engage his or her physical and cognitive abilities. The FOB focuses on providing an efficient real-world site that supports extended exercises where highly realistic missions can be conducted. Students live at this site for days or weeks at a time, conducting various missions utilizing extensive tactics including technical rescue and emergency lifesaving skills. In the past, these exercises have been conducted using condemned old buildings with a variety of safety and health concerns for instructors and students. Austere training sites like the FOB are often needed quickly to meet rapidly evolving demands. By utilizing modular container units, the facility’s construction timelines and cost were reduced when compared to traditional construction methods. Because of this, the FOB also had only a minimal real property impact. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gzjur6QP Photo credit: Matt Oberer

A building that seeks to provide an integrated experience can’t be built by a siloed team. It often doesn’t work to just hope that your contractor, architect, technology team, and furniture team will all just “work” together. The project team must collaborate across all disciplines, in alignment with the objective and the people to deliver a complete experience.

When innovation meets mission-driven, better buildings are built. What is there not to love about our partner highlight this month? We are immensely grateful for our successful partnership with the Yearout Energy team, especially for their innovative and collaborative approach to any problem or project they come across. Yearout Energy is a mission driven design-build contractor serving both private and public sector clients throughout the Southwest specializing in optimizing buildings efficiency and increasing infrastructure resilience. As an example of our successful partnership, in 2023, Yearout and Improve Group concluded a full-scale building renovation for New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ Tiwa Building in downtown Albuquerque. The 60,500 sq ft facility had not been updated since the mid ‘70s and was in grave need of some major improvements. The comprehensive renovations resulted in a space that greatly enhanced occupant comfort, increased the utilization rate of the available space, improved operational performance, and extended the life of the building for the next 50 years. Many thanks to the Yearout Energy team for their long-time top-notch partnership. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
