Tell us about yourself Jennifer:
I have always loved making people smile, which is why I chose a career in hospitality. There’s nothing more rewarding than creating memorable experiences and seeing guests feel comfortable and welcomed. Working at the airport is especially exciting because it’s such a vibrant, fast-paced environment where I get to meet people from all over the world. Every day, I learn something new about different cultures, traditions, and customs, which makes my job both fun and enriching. I love the buzz of the airport, the stories people share, and the chance to be a small part of their journey.
Beyond my professional life, I also enjoy singing at weddings, which is one of my favorite hobbies as it allows me to connect with people in a special way. Whether I’m working or performing, my goal is always to make others feel seen and appreciated. This passion for connecting with people is what drives me in everything I do, both at work and in my personal life.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to work in an environment that values diversity and makes every day enjoyable. I love being able to make a difference, no matter how small, in someone’s day, and I look forward to continuing to grow.
What does it mean to you to be of Hispanic descent?
Being of Hispanic descent means celebrating a rich culture full of diversity, warmth, and tradition. It’s about honoring the values passed down through generations, like the importance of family, hard work, and embracing our vibrant culture.
How do you celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?
I celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by spending time with family, enjoying traditional foods, and listening to music that reminds me of home. It’s a time to connect with our roots and share our culture with others.
How do you incorporate your culture into your workday?
I bring my culture into work by warmly welcoming every guest that comes in. In El Salvador, it’s customary to greet everyone with a smile, a hello, and a goodbye, no matter the time of day. This sense of hospitality is something I try to bring into every interaction.
HPH is honored to spotlight Jennifer Lopez and all of our employees of Hispanic/Latin descent this month and everyone day! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
