At the start of the pandemic, new businesses looked like they were in trouble. What actually happened was surprising. Gusto's latest analysis found that pandemic-era high-growth companies on average hired more employees than their pre-pandemic peers—showing that the entrepreneurship spike wasn't just a blip. As Gusto economist Nicholas Tremper told the The New York Times: "This entrepreneurship boom seems to be here to stay."
