That's a wrap on #BikeAroundTheBay! 🚴♀️🚴♂️ We are beyond excited to share that this year's event was one of our most successful years to date! We want to thank all our riders, who traveled from all across the state, nation, and the globe to cycle around our beautiful Bay in support of our mission. 🌊 We'd also like to thank all our staff, volunteers, vendors, supporters, and sponsors. Our Director of Education, Cindy Wilems, was recently invited to speak to University of Houston-Clear Lake Success Through Education Programs (STEP) participants, where they learned about our Bay to Schools Classroom STEM Workshops program. These pre-service teachers got to experience some of the hands-on activities that are integral to the Bay to Schools program, where our educators bring various Bay topics to schools across the region. These TEKS-aligned workshops are FREE this school year thanks to an EPA grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Galveston Bay Estuary Program. We love a good sunset! 🌅 Last Sunday, we embarked on a sunset cruise up the Houston Ship Channel with some of our incredible board members, donors, volunteers, and #BikeAroundTheBay fundraisers. We always look forward to a pleasant sunset cruise and the chance to mix and mingle with some of our top supporters! Special thanks to Kirby's Old River Fleet for taking us up the channel! #HoustonShipChannel #SunsetCruise

Last week, our team traveled to DC for the 2024 Coastal & Estuarine Summit hosted by Restore America's Estuaries, where they shared our habitat restoration work with other conservation professionals from across the nation. As a RAE member organization, our GBF team shared multiple presentations, moderated at various sessions, and our Land Acquisition Manager, Suzanne Simpson, even spoke on behalf of Galveston Bay at the White House! We're proud of our team for spreading awareness about our restoration work in Galveston Bay, and we're grateful they had the opportunity to make some new conservation connections! 🤝 #RAE #Conference #Conservation

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the CenterPoint Energy Foundation for their $30,000 contribution to our education programs, which are crucial for stewarding the next generation of conservationists. Our team is grateful for this generous donation, which will fund countless opportunities for local students through program scholarships and field experiences. It's our goal to protect and preserve Galveston Bay, but that starts with education and outreach. Thank you CenterPoint Energy for being such a supportive partner! #CNPCares #Donation #CorporatePartner #CenterPointEnergy

Last night, a few staff from our Galveston Bay Dolphin Research Program attended an Evening for Conservation, hosted by Bass Pro Shops. They engaged with the greater Houston community and other conservation-minded organizations at the grand opening of their Spring location, sharing our mission and work with people of all ages. We're grateful for these opportunities to meet new faces and share the story of our Bay and the wildlife that call it home. Thanks to Bass Pro Shops for hosting such a wonderful evening for conservation! #Outreach #Conservation #BassProShops
