A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Gabriela “Gaby” Romo, Everstand’s Board of Directors Vice-Chair, for being honored with the Ohtli Award! This prestigious recognition comes from the Institute of Mexicans Living Abroad, part of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ohtli Award is given annually and is one of the highest honors given to citizens living outside of Mexico. The name of the award comes from the Nahuatl word that means "road" or "path," alluding to the idea of opening a path for others. The Ohtli Award recognizes individuals who have aided, empowered, or positively affected the lives of Mexican nationals that reside abroad. Gaby, you’ve made us proud. Enjoy your moment!

In honor of World Mental Health Day, Everstand is proud to support global education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. 💛 Mental and behavioral health cannot be treated in a bubble. The impacts are far-reaching, touching every aspect of life. This makes it vital for the care and treatment to be holistic—a piece of the greater portrait, not a standalone drawing. At Everstand, we let our youth know, “your mind matters.” We operate under a continuum of care that considers mental and behavioral health as core components of everything we do. We design our programs and services to place them at the center, then building out the unique care and support each individual needs in order to thrive. 🎉 To kick off the '24-'25 school year, we had an incredible day on the Baltimore campus with Constellation hosting a Back-to-School Carnival Olympics! 🏅 From fun-filled games that encouraged teamwork to 65 backpacks stuffed with essential school supplies, Constellation made sure our students were set up for success. 🎒✨ Over 50 youth and staff from the Everstand community participated, including from the Hagerstown, Denton, and Colesville campuses. In addition to the carnival games, Team and Individual Certificates were awarded for Teamwork, Unity, Sportsmanship, and Most 1st Place Medals/Prizes. All in all, we gave out 11 Gold, 11 Silver, 11 Bronze Medals and prizes. A huge thank you to the amazing Constellation volunteers who helped bring this event to life! 🙌 The energy and joy were contagious, and we are so grateful for your support. 💙 Here's to an amazing school year ahead!

Everstand is proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉 From September 15 to October 15, Everstand will be recognizing the histories, cultures, and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Why does this holiday start later in the month rather than on the first? September 15th is the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua! Everstand honors diversity and creates opportunities for our community to continue to learn about each other, and engage with joy and purpose. We would not be who we are without our Latin and Hispanic community—we thank you for choosing to lend your talents to Everstand youth, families, and their communities!
