We are thrilled to share that our colleague Roy Holder, Commodity Manager at Enviva’s Lucedale facility, has been honored as the 2024 Volunteer of the Year for the Log A Load For Kids program 🏆 . This celebrated accolade was presented to Roy at the American Loggers Council's Annual Meeting in Sonora, California. The Log A Load for Kids program, which receives support from professional loggers and the forest product industry nationwide, raises funds through various events and auctions, with all proceeds benefiting children's hospitals within the Children's Miracle Network. Enviva is immensely proud that Roy's remarkable dedication and over 14 years of involvement with Log A Load for Kids have been recognized. His unwavering commitment has made a significant impact on the lives of those it serves, and his exceptional talent as an auctioneer has helped raise thousands of dollars for this worthy cause. Please join us in applauding Roy for his tireless efforts as a volunteer and auctioneer, which have played a vital role in the program's success! Thomas Jackson, Enviva’s Director of Conservation and Strategic Partnerships and Rick Frederick, Enviva’s Community Relations Manager, joined Carol Denhof, President of The Longleaf Alliance at the 15th Biennial Longleaf Conference in Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, held October 8-11. The time was spent strengthening existing relations and developing new partnerships to support additional restoration on state, federal, and private lands. Did you know that in 2020 Enviva and The Longleaf Alliance announced the signing of a five-year partnership to protect and restore longleaf pine forests, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in North America? Four years into this partnership, we are proud to say that through our sourcing, we have helped to improve or restore thousands of acres of longleaf forests across the U.S. Southeast. #EnvivaProud

#NationalHispanicHeritageMonth is a time to honor and share the rich cultures and histories of Hispanic Americans.  This year’s theme is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.” The observation began as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968, led by two Hispanic politicians, Edward R. Roybal and Henry B. Gonzales, under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. In 1988, the observance expanded to cover a 30-day annual period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. This month and beyond, we recognize Hispanics who have inspired and paved the way for past, present, and future generations and their importance to the American story. We invite you to join us in celebrating Enviva’s own Hispanic pioneers who continue to positively impact our communities, forests, and the climate while bringing their valuable talents and perspectives to Enviva every day.

The wood pellet industry accounts for just .08% of annual harvest removals in relation to forest inventory in the US South. It’s a small but integral part of the larger forestry sector that is helping our forests thrive through strong markets for wood products and sustainable management practices. Alabama Forestry Association President & CEO Chris Isaacson and his outstanding staff did a fantastic job hosting the 2024 Annual Meeting earlier this week in Orange Beach, AL. Enviva’s Director of Fiber Procurement Brad Young, Senior Commodity Manager Elizabeth McCombs, and Community Relations Manager Rick Frederick enjoyed supporting the event with a sponsorship and exhibitor table, at which they spent valuable time with Alabama landowners, state agencies, and a variety of industry leaders in the forestry sector from across the U.S. Southeast. There was much excitement and anticipation around Enviva’s opening of the world’s largest wood pellet plant in Epes, Al, which allowed for great conversations about future planning and collaboration with many of our partners and friends in the forestry community.  www.alaforestry.org #EnvivaProud

Enviva enjoyed supporting the Port of Pascagoula last week as it hosted We Work The Waterways, a national education outreach program of Ports, Inland Rivers and Terminals to build lasting connections between communities and the people who make up the maritime, shipping, and logistics industries. The event welcomed 200 local high school students eager to explore the wide range of careers related to the maritime industry. Enviva’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, Micheal Beal, and Community Relations Manager, Rick Frederick, presented on the importance of safety in the workplace with a demonstration on the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Along with other local industry leaders, it was exciting to witness the enthusiasm of the students as they explored the possibilities of a rewarding career in the maritime industry.  #EnvivaProud https://lnkd.in/e_jR6QZQ
