After a couple weeks on the road immersing ourselves in the world of the Semantic Layer across two continents (Semantic Layer Symposium in Munich and Semantic Data Conference in NYC), here are my favorite moments in pictures and my main takeaways: -> The Semantic Layer is serving as a bridge between knowledge and data teams, between the business and SQL tables or CMSs, and most importantly it is a key part of AI solutions today because it provides organizational knowledge for AI, enabling #KnowledgeIntelligence -> Semantics and AI are becoming increasingly intertwined. Embracing GenAI/LLMs as a toolkit is successfully augmenting and expediting taxonomy/ontology and graph development. And AI without a human validated semantic layer is proving to make grave mistakes and failing the many use cases that need it. -> AI has overwhelmed existing processes within organizations (and conversations) - redirecting resources, leading to overlapping enterprise efforts, and pushing technologies as opposed to standards and interoperable data models. As success and ROI from semantics is being realized in many pockets of the organization, it needs to be shared outside to help align efforts, showcase the value, and make investments based on business outcomes. -> Lastly, both Munich and NYC offered unforgettable experiences, highlighted by great beer, delicious carbs, and gorgeously brown city strolls 🍂 Thank you for the stellar talks and for making these events truly special! EK's Paula Ladenburg Land and Elliott Risch presented a LavaCon pre-conference webinar on the topic of AI-assisted content analysis titled 'Getting Control of Your Content: AI Solutions to Streamline and Optimize Your Digital Assets.' Paula and Elliott discussed how LLM-powered solutions can be harnessed to overcome the challenges of content overload and duplication. They explored how GenAI technologies can be leveraged to automatically identify and eliminate duplicate or near-duplicate content, enabling organizations to streamline their repositories and retain only the most relevant and valuable materials. The talk included real-world case studies from Enterprise Knowledge, illustrating how GenAI has been successfully deployed to help our clients analyze and act on insights about the current state of their content. The LavaCon Content Strategy Conference will be held October 27-30 in Portland, Oregon. #artificialintelligence #contentstrategy #digitalstrategy https://lnkd.in/etjmH37s
