Sherry started with EmpowerMe after coming off hospice and faced significant challenges—she was bed-bound, had limited strength, and needed assistance with daily activities. Despite it all, Sherry remained motivated and eager to participate in therapy, even though she could only handle shorter sessions at first. Fast forward just a month and a half, and thanks to her hard work and the support of our Physical and Occupational Therapy teams, Sherry is now accomplishing so much on her own! She’s able to get herself out of bed, dress herself, and even retrieve her own meals from the fridge. She’s exploring the community in her wheelchair, venturing out to the garden, and even walking with a four-wheeled walker during therapy sessions! Sherry credits her progress to the encouragement from the compassionate nursing and therapy staff, her loving family, and her favorite therapy dog, Gus! She’s truly a joy to work with and an inspiring reminder of the difference we can make together.
