Krystina’s dream team-building activity? Go-karting in Japan! If she wasn’t making a difference in the lives of others as an LCSW, she’d be caring for animals as a veterinarian. In recognition of this important day, World Mental Health Day, we’re sharing a message from William Hanson, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Deer Oaks Behavioral Health, about the silent epidemic of depression. In his video, Dr. Hanson reminds us that mental health struggles like depression are more common than many realize, with 1 in 6 adults affected at any given time. Depression can happen to anyone, at any age, and it’s critical to talk about it. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of depression, there is help available. Talk to a friend, a doctor, a clergy member, or reach out to your Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You can also call the national number 988 for immediate assistance. You don’t have to go through this alone.
