What an exciting week at MONDO.NYC OCTOBER 15-18, 2024 Music & Tech Conference 2024! Last week in Williamsburg, several of our Concord team members participated in important conversations on various aspects of the music industry. A few key notes from our panelists: 🎙 Trust from artists, and respect for their life’s work are the most important aspects of catalog acquisition. - from CEO Bob Valentine's fireside chat with Larry Miller. ❓ Ask for what you want when you think you are ready, if you don't ask you might not be offered. And learn to anticipate the needs of the sync, advertising, and film companies. - Brooke Primont, on “mAd Women: Harmonizing Success in Music and Advertising" panel. 👂 Listening to fans and social chatter is extremely important, and can sometimes prove data wrong. - Lauryn Caldwell on Tommy Richman’s “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” success, on "Artist Development & Marketing in the Streaming Era" panel. 💿 Artists should be working to drive fans to the DSPs to work the algorithm as opposed to waiting for editorial playlisting. - Kristen Reed speaking on Artist Development & Marketing in the Streaming Era 🤖 With regards to AI, it is incredibly important to find the right "content identification services" to know what music is being used and how. Then we need to catch it at the appropriate time. - Lidia K. on "Dealmaking in the Generative AI Space."
