While Hinton, among others, has been sounding the alarm bells for years, much of his message falls on deaf ears. The fact that other #AI pioneers downplay the existential risk of this technology only muddies the water further. People aren't robots. As widespread strikes take hold, low wages aren't the star of the show, but rather sweeping waves of automation that are eliminating port jobs.
