A scribe comes to Jesus, asking him to sum up the commandments.  Love God and love neighbor with everything you have, Jesus replies.    The scribe agrees, and Jesus says, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."    We are Jesus' friends if we do what he commands us, he tells us in Jn 15:14.  Today, he commands us to love God and love neighbor with everything.  And he connects it with beatitude.    What if things really are that simple?  What if the kingdom of God really does lie precisely in the ever-deepening love for God and for our brothers and sisters?    How is God calling you to love him and his children more deeply?  Even during this busy holiday season, take some time to ask him!    #ScriptureSunday
