🎉 Happy 107th Birthday, Mr. James Davis! 🎉 This month, we had the joy of celebrating an incredible milestone with Mr. James Davis, one of our amazing patients. Our care team was honored to visit and share in this special day, reflecting our mission at Agape Care to serve with love, offering comfort, support, and meaningful experiences. Adding to the celebration, we were touched by a beautiful letter from his daughter, Carol, which paints a remarkable picture of Mr. Davis’ extraordinary life. Born in 1917 in Lexington, NC, Mr. Davis has lived an extraordinary life full of service, love, and passion. As a dedicated attorney in Albany, GA, Mr. Davis not only practiced law for over 50 years but also served as Mayor of Albany from 1964-1968. He continued practicing law well into his later years, staying committed to his community. One of the most beautiful parts of his story is his 64-year marriage to his beloved wife, Jean. Through thick and thin, including caring for Jean after she became quadriplegic in 1953, Mr. Davis showed incredible devotion until her passing in 2011. Even now, at 107, Mr. Davis continues to inspire us all with his strength and wisdom. His hobbies of sailing, poetry, and walking through the woods have left lasting memories. He’s published two books of poetry and remains a life member of the Albany YMCA and the First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA. Join us in wishing Mr. Davis a very happy birthday and honoring his incredible life journey!

“Before her sickness, our mom, Heather Lewis was a nurse. She had been a nurse in many different fields. She was once an employee at Agape Hospice Care. To watch life take a full circle, and see the team care for her just as she cared for others was evidence of God’s plan. Although mom was only on hospice for a week before her passing, we couldn’t thank the care team enough. We were only 27, 24, & 21. Thank you Agape. We love you, mom.” - Haley, Cole, and Josh, Heather’s children The end-of-life journey looks different for every person and every family. We’re honored to have the privilege of supporting patients, like Heather, and their families through the end-of-life journey and beyond.

Our chaplains are an integral part of our grief support team. Their work helps patients and families alike access spiritual support that's tailored to their beliefs. The end-of-life journey can bring up a lot of spiritual stressors and questions, that's why our team takes the time to provide meaningful experiences and support to our patients, no matter their beliefs. Thank you, chaplains!
