🎉DRF en Español celebrates fourth anniversary 🎉
August is very special for the DRF en Español team. Four years ago, in August 2020, what was initially a dream of our director Roberto Rodríguez came true – DRF en Español. The site is now the most important platform in North America for horse racing information in Spanish.
The initial structure for DRF en Español was a page within the Daily Racing Form website.
“I remember the enormous number of meetings and negotiations in such a difficult year due to the pandemic,” Roberto said. “Finally, an agreement was reached, and the mere fact that such an emblematic brand in the industry had agreed to present information in Spanish was already an achievement.”
The immediate growth of the audience was evident, even more so when it was decided to launch the DRF en Español YouTube channel a few days after we had a presence on the web. Followers had excellent editorial content, in addition to the information and opinion spaces on the channel.
DRF en Español quickly became a communication bridge between racetracks and Spanish-speaking fans. More than 30 racetracks in the United States and Canada have established partnerships with DRF en Español to promote their racing. In addition, Sky Racing World has entered into an agreement to promote Australian racing in Spanish.
DRF en Español has been a pioneer in bringing live video coverage in Spanish of the races at Keeneland, Kentucky Downs, Tampa Bay Downs, and Woodbine, just to name a few tracks. In addition, the Breeders’ Cup Breakfast show (Desayuno en las Breeders’ Cup) has been a fixture on the platform, with live programming, news, and commentary in the days leading up to the Breeders’ Cup. DRF en Español is also the first media outlet to offer live Spanish coverage of North America’s two most important Standardbred races – the North America Cup from Mohawk Park and the Hambletonian from the Meadowlands.
DRF en Español’s preview videos on its YouTube channel keep followers well informed with professional analysis of the races. The exclusive premium content of La Referencia and La Referencia Xpress have made them must-read products before placing bets and La Referencia is also the name of the site’s weekly talk show at 6 p.m. Eastern on Mondays.
While DRF en Español has expanded exponentially over the last four years, the goal is to continue growing each day. The team remains in a constant search for excellence, offering clients and followers options for their needs. The new portal (drfenespanol.com) has already surpassed 1 million visits in just less than two years.
We cannot end this message without thanking the sponsoring racetracks, our parent company, Daily Racing Form, and above all, you our followers, since you are the engine that drives our actions. Our work is for you, because DRF en Español is your home for Spanish-speaking horse racing content.
