You're interning in Mobile Communications. How can you impress employers with your experience?

I don't think it's necessary to take an online course, especially if it's paid. Start by watching YouTube videos to grasp the basics. There are plenty of free resources to build your knowledge, like ShareTechnote. While 3GPP Technical documents are available online, they're complex and might not be suitable for interns at the beginning. If you're hands-on and want to combine it with some Linux skills, consider building your own lab and experimenting with open-source projects you can find online on github. With your supervisor's guidance, identify your responsibilities as a Telecom intern and use these resources to shape your understanding.

La iniciativa se mostrará cuando puedas cuantificar el valor ganado de la propuesta y estes en la capacidad de empoderarte para ser el guía a la solución de problema o de la mejora del sistema de inicio a fin.

Pedir desculpas é muito melhor do que “com licença”. A pró atividade é sempre bem-vinda. Quem chega com a cabeça fresca e cheia de ideias, pode trazer sugestões - desde os processos que podem ser melhorados, até ferramentas que devem ser implementaras, ou pelo simples fato de sugerir “workshop” sobre atividades e áreas que ainda desconhece. A posição de estagiário é a primeira em que você pode se destacar, começar seu network e ser notado por seus pares e superiores. Todo mundo quer ter uma pessoa engajada no time, aquela pessoa que veste a camisa, que joga em equipe.

Take a volunteering position on those mobile related work item you consider interesting ones. You and your superrios will note the motivated persons interest and good results.

Taking initiative impresses employers. Go beyond your duties and suggest improvements. If you spot a data collection or analysis gap, propose a more efficient method. Show you're not just learning but making a tangible difference. Employers value interns eager for challenges and solution-oriented.

Remember to be humble, but try to fill-in the points that others can do. You have an advantage, as newbye: you have your point of view, which will help for sure your teammate and your boss too. People tend to replicate their experience, but since you don't have it, you can propose something new. Nothing is to fool if you have your story to tell!

My advice is to go to meeting with at least 10 name cards, and collect at least 5 cards. Network actively and listen to they talk. Listening to more than talk yourself. you are first learning from likely more experienced ones. And network not only at linkedin but otherwise helping them to network with persons you happen to know.. 5-10 mins per person is enough, if both get interested in, agree on follow-up 1-1- meeting.

Networking enriches your internship experience. Engage with colleagues and professionals in mobile communications. Attend workshops, seminars, and meetings to learn and make connections. Building relationships increases your chances of receiving mentorship, advice, and opportunities. The connections you make now can open doors for your future career.

If the company you work for offer options to visit/participate in seminars/workshops - don't miss it! From my personal experience, one never knows who you will meet on those and what kind of experiences or ideas (your own or from others) you will "bring back home"

Its always beneficial to tell what you are doing and ask an experienced persons opinion if he/she can tell is it best way for a feasible solution. Many experienced person just love to help others, since someone helped them earlier before they become experts in their own field. Unfortunately not all of mobile persons, forget them since they do not network so well. There are so many questions you can make to an expert, and then just listen and occasionally make a rhetoric question "did I get you correctly?"

While theoretical knowledge is important, practical skills set you apart. Use your internship to gain hands-on experience with industry tools and platforms. Whether it's network simulation software or analytics tools for measuring performance, proficiency shows you're job-ready. Don't hesitate to ask for opportunities to work with these tools; it demonstrates your eagerness to learn and apply new skills.

Expert are normally busy and they value concise and clear discussions to save valuable time. After short compliments you should go directly to the point with a short and clear 'common man level' opening. Dont try to excel with acronyms and "as we know" gerela sentences. Be precise, and say if you really do not know something. And remember to listen to. Its a free lesson you will get; perhaps you will get a position at his/her team to solve that issue.

Effective communication is key in any role, especially in an internship. Be clear and concise in emails, reports, and meetings. Good communication also means being a good listener; take feedback seriously and act on it to improve. This helps you learn and shows you're adaptable and a team player.

Always be open and honest with seniors - if its something you don't know how to do - communicate in clear way, ask for help but not for whole activity but only for the part which can help you to move along yourself. Experts/senior often don't have too much time to spent due to other duties but if you are clear and concise a good senior will always help you!

Todos fomos estagiários e se contratamos um para o time, já esperamos ter essa troca. “Indica algum livro?”, “essa palestra gratuita é legal?”, “se tiver algum evento que eu possa ir, me avisa?”. Faça seu trabalho de forma adequada, cuidado redobrado com as entregas. Pergunte quantas vezes forem necessárias até entender o que precisa fazer. Pesquise, entregue 25% a mais, proponha uma ideia que não estava no seu escopo.

Lastly, your attitude is as important as your skills and knowledge. Approach each task with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Stay positive, even when faced with challenges, and maintain a professional demeanor. Employers notice interns who bring positive energy and stay motivated under pressure. This attitude will make a lasting impression and could turn your internship into a job offer.
