So, the fundamental skill of any coach IS to help client focus in on what is truly important to them. Unless you want to hire another coach to help you gain clarity on how to overcome potential barriers you'll need to learn to reflect on what barriers lay in your path and how to navigate them. Of course this isn't easy and it won't happen overnight, but expanding your self awareness won't only help you overcome your challenges, it will help you help your clients too. Remember, before we can make any move in the external world we must first decide where we need to go in our internal world (our mind).

The clarity and confidence you gain from an experienced coach is incomparable. One of my clients was stuck in old patterns that were impacting sales. Opportunities with prospects were literally walking out the door. And when your job is to sell, that's a problem. We worked through a few sessions of non-negotiables, value identification, and self-worth, and found that some old fears were holding them back. A few weeks later, they messaged to say they had landed a $50k deal. I don't think it's so much the coach unveiling their client's aspirations as the coach enabling their client to discover and reveal what's there for them. I cringe a bit at the notion of a coach 'giving advice'. I do agree however that networking is essential for business owners and many employees. Most of the introverts I work with tell me that networking is their least favourite part of business. So, helping them to establish strategies so their networking is purposeful and not just small talk is essential.
