Start by thoroughly assessing the project's needs—consider the goals, target audience, and client expectations. If the project calls for innovation, lean into creative, out-of-the-box ideas while anchoring them with tried-and-true strategies. On the other hand, if results are the priority, focus on what’s already working, and make strategic, creative tweaks to enhance effectiveness. You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel; sometimes, refining and elevating proven methods is the key to success.

Always the same answer. Depends! Who are you targeting, where will it be seen, is the brand ready for a stretch? Then the other constraints, talent, location, budget not to mention what works on the day. We had an opportunity to film with 3 top footballers for the World Cup but had to share the short time with a local agency. We wrote a volume of 'just in case' spots that came in handy as the talent were swapped, didn't appear together, and one was injured and couldn't stand. By shooting mostly bluescreen and placing them in a variety of environments, including animated, for them to interact with we ended up with over 30 spots, elements, banners, etc while the agency ended up with one spot, one poster. And the agency used far more time.

I am a firm believer in not trying to fix something that is not broken. But with changing times the evolution has to be a part of the process. Creativity cannot stay stale. Its a digital world now so you have to evolve with time. But the patterns of thinking, the ways of landing onto an idea have to remain in their place. Because there can be no replacement of 'IDEA'. Its execution strategies must evolve with changing times.

There are moments when the project demands results within a certain timeline, and even then, flexibility should be handled with care. It’s vital not to shift so much that you lose sight of the core strategy or compromise its essence. In true creativity, there aren’t rigid rules—only the ethics that guide us.

To work on a team, you must be open minded and remember you are not Mr. Always Right. Be receptive about the other colleagues' ideas, they might be the add-on you need to skyrocket your idea.
