For me the best thing to plan your project at first. you should have very good project manager who should lock the scope and divide the work into multiple sprints. Daily scrum calls to catch the team with the plan. Then after configuration/customization start UAT without getting any change request. Then we can have good Go Live with plan date.

Connect with the employees and commune them about the deadlines. If there is no backlog then follow the weekly sprint and have a check on daily updates on the progress and to not hold any particular issue/delivery with oneself for long and seek for help if required to save time. Not to make the deliveries too stressful and strenuous by proper planning and have proper communication channel between customer and development teams and intra team.
