Start by clearly defining your sustainability goals. Identify what sustainability means for your organization—whether it's reducing carbon footprint, promoting social responsibility, or ensuring economic viability. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that align with your overall business objectives. Having well-defined goals provides a clear direction and a benchmark for success. Ensure these goals are integrated into your business strategy, driving every decision and action towards sustainability.

To implant sustainability in the entire business model it is very essential to first identify loopholes and potential operations which can impact sustainability negatively. After the identification making poster note or list is beneficial to keep an extra eye to cope potential points that can bring sustainability down throughout entire process of architecture.

Engage stakeholders early and often. Involve everyone from employees to suppliers and customers in your sustainability efforts. In the meantime we have so many excellent solutions on the market, which were developped based on best practices. We do not need to reinvent the wheel again and again.

Very pragmatic, Sustainability needs to be embedded in your overall company's strategy. To get it working you need to be clear on your overall operationalization of your strategy. To guide those efforts, any KPIs / PPIs defined on your transformation journey need to be double checked on in terms of relevance on sustainability. In case still missing, add KPIs which will cover it to support your "sustainable" transformation.

Continuously monitor and evaluate your sustainability efforts. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against your goals. Simply start to understand your organisation & processes. Understand, what are your challenges related to processes, organizational set-up, enablement/change mgnt. and perhaps also your challenges related to your strategy and/or the way you are currently implementing it. Ask your employees, whether they know your company's strategy. Particularly in bigger enterprises you will be surprised how many will not be able to answer it properly and how it relates to their work.
