What is the difference between green building and traditional building?

Traditional construction (True Blue) has a stronger knowledge base and well refined planning and build techniques. Typically will last 100 years if looked after. The Green building is on the spectrum, never knowing how green it really is, how it will stay green and its some of parts doesn't give a life of more than 40 years. Its more a Yellow stain of construction. Mixing True Blue and Yellow - can make a better green - but just different shades. There is no True Green.

For too long green washing has existed in the construction industry. The term ESD ‘ecologically sustainable development’ has been around for decades. I do not believe it is even possible to have a totally ‘green’ build in Australia. I would be interested to know how close to green we can get given the colour we see is every other colour but green.

Green Buildings focuses on creating healthier Indoor Environments through better ventilation and air quality, the use of non-toxic building materials, and effective moisture control. The aim is to improve occupant comfort and health and this will be lead to maximize the value of the building.

While green building materials and technologies may initially be more expensive, they can lead to lower long-term operating costs due to energy savings and reduced maintenance

Indeed, green building presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly when integrating new technologies snd navigating complex systems. However, changing the mentality towards green building can be one of the more challenging aspects of implementing sustainable practices.
