I am all about expanding my skillset. I feel it is so important to not only build on the skills you already have but to also take this opportunity to learn additional ones. Knowledge is everything in business. The best never has to look for customers. If you are the expert, customers will find you.

I've been a longtime LinkedIn user but just recently (February/2024) became more active. I need to step my game up when it comes to networking. I see its advantages now. In just a few months I've connected with other professionals, had meaningful conversations and attended live events. I see telecommunications growing rapidly and networking with those in the same field will only help you gain more knowledge, additional tips and tricks and possibly new opportunities.

Stay nimble, In my 37+ years of telecom I have seen the transformation from analog to digital, digital to VoIP and VoIP to Cloud. Adaptablity is key for longevity in telecom.

The key to life is moderation. Play as hard as you work, and remember to keep some time just to yourself! A balanced life is a building block of your career.

Self-care, well-being, we've all heard this and know it is imperative to our health. Determine your trigger points and start with that. If possible, and I know it's not always but try to just take a step back and refocus. At the end of your day, before you rush home if you're a commuter - sit in your car and do nothing. Rest, relax and catch your breath. If you work from home, same thing. When your day is done, before you rush to make dinner, or laundry just turn everything off and do nothing for a bit. Breathe. When I was working, at the end of my shift I would rush to my car to pick up my son. Early? Yes. I would get there sometimes an hour early. Why? Because I'm alone. No one, no cats (2) - just me sitting in a car by myself. Me time.
