You’re a mid-career healthcare professional. How can you find new opportunities?

One of the best things I found was identifying and aligning what skills and strengths I had but also what I valued most in an opportunity, what it was I was missing or wanting to target. I then considered opportunities and also reached out and made personal connections to discuss options as well as finding a few mentors to share my thoughts with and bounce ideas. Your network is your most valuable asset. Nurture it before you need it! Make sure your contacts know what you are looking for and are willing to help you during that journey.

This is a big factor that requires time and not to be rushed. Ensure everything aligns and is tailored towards the position you're interested in.

Networking and building a community really helps not only build opportunity it also shows differing options available and avenues you perhaps never thought might be for you. Opportunities could be opened up that weren't originally being advertised

Volunteering and internship opportunities are great ways to get involved while acquiring new skills and experience. Once I knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, I sought any opportunity to get into a hospital to learn from the many skilled professionals working there. With each position, I learned what I truly enjoyed doing, and was able to connect with several people in positions that I'd like to be in someday. Identifying and working with a mentor who understands your strengths and goals is key to focusing on ways to advance your career. Seeking honest feedback from those around you is important, and surrounding yourself with exceptional people will lead to new connections and opportunities that you can use to learn and grow.

From my experience in transitioning into the MedTech field, I would recommend several strategies for a healthcare professional to find new opportunities. First, staying updated with the latest advancements, especially in AI. This could be through attending conferences, webinars, or enrolling in online courses. Second, networking is crucial. Connecting with professionals in the e-Health industry can open doors to new opportunities. Third, consider collaborating on research projects or contributing to open-source software developments.
