From my experience, the key is to start by creating a safe space where everyone feels heard. Open communication is the foundation of any strong team. I focus on helping teams to see change as an opportunity, not a threat, which shifts the mindset from fear to possibility. Then, I guide them to leverage each other’s strengths, encouraging a more collaborative approach where ideas are shared and built upon collectively. It’s also important to introduce practical tools for effective collaboration, whether it’s through better meeting structures or digital platforms that keep everyone on the same page. Finally, I remind the team to celebrate small wins along the way - it keeps morale high and reinforces the power of working together.

3 ways I inspired my team to take action, even when we faced uncertainty and change. 1. Communicated openly and honestly – I shared as much information as possible about the change and validated their feelings. 2. Demonstrated calm and confidence – As the leader the team looked to me for a signal on how to react. I remained optimistic about the future. 3. Focused on what I could control – I reminded my team that we only have full control over our actions. We still had a duty to do right by our customers and stakeholders. In times of uncertainty, leadership is defined not by the circumstances, but by how we respond to them.
