As the article states, the innovative ideas and increase in possibilities of green roofs, have many benefits for e.g. biodiversity and climate. At the same time, which is often forgotten or paid less attention to at the start of these projects, is the social acceptance. With the latter I refer to e.g. the increase in e.g. animals in our surrounding which we are not used to. To prevent any nuisance and future complaints, it is needed to start not 'just' the planning of green, but also the planning of social awareness, or better 'transformative learning': both citizens, but also very important are the managers at municipalities, organizations etc. In other words, green roofs consists of social-ecological transformative processes and learning.

I think it's important to highlight the relationship between different types of "green roofs" and urban biodiversity. If well-designed, sub-strate-based, these "living roofs" can provide habitats for animals and food for pollinators.
