How would you address conflicting stakeholder feedback during the innovation process?

In my experience, the Goal Alignment step should come first. It's critical that senior stakeholders are on the same page with what success looks like from day 1. We always run a workshop at the kick-off of a new project to get the folks that matter into the same room. We'll use stickies to ask what success looks like for everyone, for the business, for the customer etc. I'm routinely surprised by how different the response are - which can lead to some tense conversations. But I'd much rather have that tough conversation on day 1 than much later in the project.
