How do you test telecommunication systems for security?

The first step in testing telecommunication systems for security is to define clear security objectives. They are usually divided into two areas; the radio/transmission side and the application/Internet facing side. Additionally, scoping is a very important factor that isn’t really talked about in this article. It deserves its own section, as this can get pretty involved, depending on the environment setup.
