The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 49(1) and (5) to (7) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014(1).

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (Commencement No. 7, Transitional Provisions and Savings) (Amendment) Order 2023.

Amendment of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (Commencement No. 7, Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order 2015

2.  In article 7 (transitory provision: exercise of functions) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (Commencement No. 7, Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order 2015(2), for “2023” substitute “2028”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (Commencement No. 7, Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order 2015 (“the 2015 Order”).

Article 2 amends the date until which the functions of the Audit Commission for Local Authorities and the National Health Service in England under the provisions listed in article 6(2) of the 2015 Order may be exercised by a Minister of the Crown. This amendment also changes the date until which the Minister may delegate the exercise of any such function to other persons or bodies.
