The Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (Commencement No.2) (Scotland) Order 1993

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 188 of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993((1)) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (Commencement No.2) (Scotland) Order 1993.

Commencement

2.  The provisions of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Order shall come into force on 27th September 1993 and 1st April 1994 respectively.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints the days on which the provisions in the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 which relate to housing and which apply exclusively to Scotland are to come into force. (Sections 174 (financial assistance for urban regeneration), 179 (adjustment of areas of development corporations) and 180 (partially) (transfer of property, rights and liabilities of development corporations) of that Act which apply to Scotland as well as England and Wales will come into force on 11th October 1993; and paragraph 8 of Schedule 17 (House of Commons disqualification) to that Act which also applies in both jurisdictions will be brought into force by a subsequent commencement order.)

The provisions of that Act specified in Schedules 1 and 2 are to come into force respectively on 27th September 1993 and 1st April 1994.
