The City of Leduc values the contributions of the non-profit sector toward social, personal, environmental, and economic development. Leduc is known for its dedicated and willing volunteers who contribute to this sector and the extraordinary ways they serve the community.
This municipality provides funding support through the following:
NOTE: The Sport Tourism Grant is governed by a separate policy.
Leduc’s Municipal Grant Policy outlines how the municipality can provide funding assistance to volunteer organizations and not-for-profits who have programs, projects and events that provide a benefit to the community in areas, such as:
- Generating economic activity
- Developing community leadership
- Citizen empowerment
- Building a strong, viable and caring community
Requirements to apply:
Any registered non-profit or charitable organization must:
- Be in existence for more than one (1) year and provide proof of status. Note: An individual carrying on a not-for-profit activity for more than one-year, may be considered. Organizations that are without non-profit status must provide their terms of reference
- Have programs and services where the membership and/or beneficiaries directly contribute to the overall improvement of Leduc’s quality of life
- Have an open membership, unless otherwise necessary (i.e. age) and please specify why
- Be in good standing with the City of Leduc and Canadian Revenue Agency
- Have only one (1) type of funding from the City of Leduc and can be awarded per calendar year: Travel, Hosting or General Grants to Organization
- Serve a minimum of 60 per cent of participants or users reside within the City of Leduc
- Demonstrate initiative and success in generating diverse sources of revenue and showcases sustainability beyond the term of the grant
