Every year, Condé Nast Traveller patrons participate in the Readers' Choice Awards, where they can rank the top vacation resorts in the world down to the best suitcase company, and on Tuesday, one in Sonoma County topped the list for the best hotel.

Residents across the Bay Area are bracing for another day of extreme heat, with temperatures nearing or surpassing triple digits for the third consecutive day. While people are advised to stay indoors, that isn't an option for everyone, especially outdoor workers.

The Fruitvale and Lake Merritt BART stations closed Wednesday night, with the closure of the Fruitvale Station due to a major medical emergency, the agency first announced at 9:05 p.m.
