Washington students take state and federal tests regularly to assess their learning growth as well as the progress of the educational system.
State Testing
Washington students are tested annually by the state to assess their progress as they move through school. Visit the State Testing page for information about each test and the grade levels that students will participate in testing.
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)
The NAEP is a national test that measures what students across the country know and can do in ten subject areas, including mathematics, reading, writing, and science. Federal law requires the reading and math tests to the given at grades 4 and 8, every two years.

World Language Proficiency Assessment Options
The assessment options page contains a list of approved providers and assessments for language proficiency testing. These assessments can be used to earn Competency-based Credit, Dual Credit, and the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy.
