Office of Foreign Litigation Attorneys Lead USAID-Sponsored Training of Vietnamese Justice Officials Concerning International Judicial Assistance in Civil Matters. From August 6–10, 2018, Assistant Director Jonathan Welch and Trial Attorney Katerina Ossenova of the Office of Foreign Litigation met with officials of the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam to discuss international judicial assistance in civil matters and lead a USAID-sponsored training on the Hague Service and Evidence Conventions. Mr. Welch and Ms. Ossenova led a workshop in Hanoi on the Hague Evidence Convention for Ministry of Justice officials, in preparation for Vietnam’s adoption of the Evidence Convention next year. They then traveled to Vinh Phuc City for a two-day workshop on the Hague Service Convention, which Vietnam has recently joined.
