Here’s something a little different. Today, Lionsgate announced that it landed the worldwide theatrical rights to the suspense thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, the first feature film from Grammy-winning artist The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye). The feature-length project serves as an extension of The Weeknd’s upcoming album of the same title. Hurry Up Tomorrow is the film’s score, orchestrated by The Weeknd and Daniel Lopatin. Tesfaye won’t approach this ambitious project alone. Trey Edward Shults directs Hurry Up Tomorrow from his script, with Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan leading the film.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the film, Adam Fogelson of Lionsgate said, “Abel is a visionary whose art cannot be confined by any single medium. With Hurry Up Tomorrow, in partnership with Trey, his musical universe expands onto the big screen with a psychological thriller that will usher in a new cinematic experience for fans. When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt started seeing each other, they were ‘the couple’ in town. Having sparked an incomparable chemistry ever since co-starring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the couple did not look back.
Until there came a time when walking hand in hand was not even an option. Two years after tying the knot, they had to call it quits. And as Angelina Jolie readies herself for a new era in her life, she seems to look forward to greener pastures.

The story of the movies in the 2010s is basically the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man laid the foundation in 2008, but The Avengers turned the franchise into a proper phenomenon in 2012. From there, Disney rode the wave all the way to the bank. Things climaxed in 2019, with three Marvel movies — Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home — all making over a billion dollars.
That was around the time the streaming wars were really getting underway, so Disney and Marvel Studios set their sights on a new realm to conquer: television. Things got off to a solid start with WandaVision, a surprisingly esoteric show about Wanda Maximoff that took inspiration from, of all things, sitcoms through the ages. Back in 2021, people were enraptured by this show; the buzz was very real.
And then things seemed to taper off. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier came next,...

The show is expected to come out in October 2025, nearly a year after the end of ‘What If…?’ Season 3, which is set to release in December this year.

Exclusive: Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Billy Magnussen (Roadhouse) have been set to star in Steve Pink’s out-there horse racing comedy Chariot.
This sounds a fun one. The synopsis reads: “Paul Rovia, an oversized jockey, seeks redemption after causing a major racing accident that gets him suspended from the sport for two years. Desperate to compete in the Grand National again, Paul teams up with Kate O’Leary and her wild Centaur named Chariot. Paul and Chariot clash at first but eventually form an unstoppable duo, taking the racing world by storm.”
Pink is known for writing Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity and directed Hot Tub Time Machine, About Last Night and most recently The Wheel.
The Exchange is launching worldwide sales on the movie at the upcoming American Film Market. The sales deal was negotiated by Brian O’Shea on behalf of The Exchange and by Lastine Entertainment Lawon behalf of the filmmakers.

It's been an interesting time for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The franchise that once dominated the box office two or three times a year has suffered a number of blows in recent years that had many questioning the endurance of its drawing power.
Films such as Eternals, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Marvels failed to achieve the levels of success that even some of the franchise's solid performers did, resulting in a new approach and an overhaul to Marvel Studios' release strategy. It also reportedly ensured that they would focus on quality over quantity going forward, spending more time perfecting the titles that are still in the works (and perhaps even cancelling some shows it might have been open to bringing back once upon a time).
This meant refocusing on every upcoming title and ensuring that they can make the most of it, producing strong outings...

It's no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has hit what might be described as a rough patch in recent years. The MCU is still arguably the biggest thing going at the box office these days, with "Deadpool & Wolverine" making more than $1.3 billion this year. That said, films like "Black Widow," "Eternals," and especially "The Marvels" have struggled to break through with audiences in a meaningful way. The same could be said for last year's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," which shot out of the gate hot but then came crashing down to finish its global run with $476 million worldwide. Against a $200 million budget, it was considered a big disappointment, if not an outright flop. Yet, it's a flop that still turned a profit, albeit a very tiny one.

Sony Pictures billed “Venom: The Last Dance” as the final chapter in Tom Hardy’s alien-symbiote-buddy-comedy franchise. But with its $51 million domestic opening weekend — 44% and 55% lower than the previous two installments — the movie also signifies the continued twilight of superhero cinema as the dominant force at the box office.
Superhero movies used to be an indispensable revenue driver for the film industry. In 2018 and 2019, the average global gross for superhero fare was more than $1 billion. This year, it’s half that, even with the record-breaking success of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” In fact, the Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman vehicle is the only comic book movie that could qualify as a hit since “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” debuted in June 2023. Since then, the genre has suffered an extraordinary box office drought. Film after film, from “The Flash” to “The Marvels” to “Madame Web,” opened to, at best, a shrug — and, at worst,...

Recently, there has been a lot of negative news about the upcoming MCU Blade reboot. After months of problems and Yann Demange leaving as director, the film has now been taken off Disney’s 2025 release schedule.
This move was expected since it seemed very unlikely the movie could meet its November 2025 deadline. It still doesn’t have a filming date, a finished script, or a director.
Recent reports from industry insider Daniel Richtman say that the Blade movie has been changed again. He claims that filming is set to start in 2025 in the United Kingdom. The film will have a smaller budget and is expected to be very dark, rated R, as they are working on a new script.
This news is positive, especially since reports say Mahershala Ali is still involved with the project. This makes sense because insiders say he wants to turn Blade into his own version of Black Panther.

It seems that in recent months all news related to the upcoming MCU’s ‘Blade’ reboot has been negative. Following months of troubling news, and Demange leaving his position as the movie’s director the other shoe has finally dropped and the movie has been removed from Disney’s 2025 release slate.
Quite frankly the move has been expected, it was extremely unlikely that the movie would make its November 2025 deadline considering it lacks a filming date, script, and director.
Now the latest reports brought to us from industry insider Daniel Richtman claim that the movie has undergone yet another overhaul. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has emerged as one of the biggest movie franchises in the world and it boasts a roster filled with top-tier talent. However, things have been a little iffy based on the MCU’s latest releases and fans weren’t really pleased with the outcomes of movies like Eternals and a ton of other TV series that were supposed to lay the groundwork for the Multiverse saga.

We recently learned that Paddington and Paddington 2 director Paul King is on board to direct a Prince Charming movie for Disney. Whether it's a prequel or sequel remains unclear, though the latter seems more likely with the addition of Chris Hemsworth.
According to Deadline, the Avengers: Endgame and Thor star is in talks to play the iconic character. It's an intriguing role for Hemsworth in a year that's seen him widely praised for his work in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Transformers One.
Prince Charming plot details are being kept a secret but King is co-writing the movie alongside Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker. As a result, it will likely be his next feature following last year's Wonka.

Marvel just made yet another big change to its slate. Is dropping Blade a bad sign?
2023 saw the once-invincible MCU finally hit an overdue road block. First, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania disappointed at the box office. Then, Jonathan Majors, who was set to become the new big bad of the franchise as Kang, was arrested on assault charges and soon fired. Then, the 2023 Hollywood strikes curtailed production while The Marvels flopped.
While Deadpool & Wolverine has been a hit and Agatha All Along won wide praise and viewership, much of the rest of the Marvel lineup has been delayed until 2025. That included what was going to be a top contender for fans, Blade.
The original 1998 Blade was the first true Marvel hit movie. It adapted the cult character of a half-vampire hunting other vampires with Wesley Snipes in the title role. Thanks to a good script, great direction and Snipes’ performance,...

The Blade mystery is continuing to rage as strongly as ever, and now Mahershala Ali’s future as the Vampire Hunter seems bleaker than ever before. While the actor did grace his presence through his voice as the respective character in the post-credits scene of 2021’s Eternals, Eric Brooks was then brought back to life by Wesley Snipes – his initial portrayer – in Deadpool 3.

Nonetheless, this latter live-action appearance of the character didn’t rule out Ali’s version of Brooks to be seen in a planned solo movie, with fans eagerly anticipating the same. It was during San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 that Marvel announced two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali would play the superhero Blade in a new Marvel film set to arrive in theaters potentially as soon as late 2021 or early 2022.
Now five years later, Ali’s stab at Blade remains unmade. On Tuesday, Disney quietly announced that it had pulled the Marvel film from its scheduled release date of November 7, 2025. No new date has been publicly announced.
Progress on “Blade” has been slow and unsteady. Since the announcement in 2019, the project has cycled through two directors – Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange – and several writers. Ali was originally supposed to star alongside Aaron Pierre and Delroy Lindo in the film but both actors have since departed the project. Mia Goth was still attached, however, when she was doing press for “Maxxxine” this past summer.
“They really care, they do. They want to make a great movie.

After all, Marvel Studios has been trying — and struggling — to get their own Blade movie off the ground ever since announcing Mahershala Ali would be the McU's vampire hunter in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con way back in 2019. And now, following the departures of both director Bassam Tariq and his successor Yann Demange, it's starting to look like Snipes' zinger may well have heralded the final nail being driven into Blade's coffin.
Per Deadline's reporting, Marvel's Blade has lost its already pretty ambitious 7 November, 2025 release slot to Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands. And whilst this news doesn't come with any formal cancellation announcement for the movie, which was set to see...

We finally saw Blade appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film — it just wasn’t the Blade played by Mahershala Ali. The first appearance of Blade in the MCU came in “Deadpool & Wolverine” with Wesley Snipes reprising his iconic role.
And now Ali’s “Blade” has been delayed yet again, pulled from Disney’s 2025 release slate entirely. What a disaster.
Marvel chief Kevin Feige first announced a “Blade” reboot back in 2019 with Ali attached to star, and the character was even teased in the post-credits of 2021’s “Eternals,” a would-be franchise that now seems forgotten.
“Blade” has been through many starts and stops, with several writers and directors filtering through and with delays because of the writers strike and more. Through it all, the franchise’s original stars Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff haven’t refrained from talking about it.
“It’s not the actor’s fault,” Snipes said of Ali.

Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps are all heading our way next year and, up until today, so was Blade.
It's been pretty obvious for a while that it wouldn't arrive in theaters on November 7, 2025, especially as there was no mention of it at events like San Diego Comic-Con and D23 earlier this summer. Now, Disney has confirmed that by removing the Daywalker's solo outing from its release schedule.
As a result, the Blade reboot is undated and delayed indefinitely.
On the plus side, Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands has taken Blade's place next November. Disney has also dated three untitled Marvel Studios movies for February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028.
For what it's worth, scooper @MyTimeToShineH says, "Blade [is] not dead so don't bury it yet."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of Blade has had a long, rough ride through the development process, and as of right now it doesn’t even have a director attached. So there probably weren’t many Marvel fans who were expecting the movie to stick with its November 7, 2025 release date – and therefore, few will be surprised or disappointed to hear that Blade has indeed been bumped out of 2025. Deadline reports that Disney will be releasing 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands on November 7, 2025 instead of Marvel’s vampire slayer movie.
The fact that there was going to be a Blade reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Mashershala Ali in the title role, came as a huge surprise when the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July of 2019… but we’ve passed the five year anniversary of that announcement, and there’s still no sign...

Marvel’s “Blade” has been delayed yet again. Disney has removed the plagued superhero-vampire movie starring Mahershala Ali from its 2025 release slate entirely.
The prior update had “Blade” due to open on November 7, 2025, but that won’t happen anymore. Instead, we’ll be getting the next movie in the Predator franchise, “Predator: Badlands,” on that date.
For now, “Blade” isn’t on the Disney release schedule at all. But Marvel did put three new generic placeholder dates — February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028 — on its release calendar on Tuesday.
This “Blade” has been a real thorn in the side of the generally reliable Marvel and Kevin Feige. Feige recently said they’ve been spending the last few years “trying to crack that movie,” and that the important thing now is “not rushing it.”
The film has dealt with the exit of two different directors and multiple different screenwriters, and production was postponed...

In recent years, Barry Keoghan has paved the way for himself into the Hollywood spotlight. The talented Irish actor has been known for his roles in films like The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The Banshees of Inisherin. However, it wasn’t until Saltburn that he wound up shooting to stardom alongside Jacob Elordi.

Although the 2023 film brought Keoghan major success, no one had expected it to be the one that threw him into the limelight. After all, just a few years before it, he had teamed up with Marvel to bring a new kind of superhero film to the big screen. Unfortunately, it fell short of MCU expectations.

Well it was fun while it lasted. At least that's what one major Marvel character might be thinking when contemplating their apparent future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The MCU is a well-oiled machine of a franchise, known for turning lesser-known comic book characters into global phenomenons. Look no further than the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel; all of whom became franchise headliners thanks to solo movies that launched their cinematic careers.
However, in recent years, that hasn't worked out quite as successfully for the Marvel Studios franchise, as a number of characters in its Multiverse Saga haven't resonated as well with audiences. And that unfortunately might be down to the fact that there were just too many titles to keep up with.
Now, it sounds like that could have had major repercussions on the future of one character in particular.

The DC Universe has numerous projects in the pipeline, including a TV series centered on Booster Gold. Currently, we have little information about the show other than its announcement, but James Gunn has stated that just because something is announced doesn’t guarantee it will be released.
A few months ago, credible sources began reporting that Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani was cast in the role, which disappointed some fans who felt he didn’t physically match the character.
This speculation is particularly heightened given that fans have favored actors like Antony Starr and Chris Pratt for the role. Nanjiani has frequently been seen with James Gunn and the Superman cast at various events, fueling further rumors.
Recently, James Gunn shared an image showcasing the confirmed roles for the DC Universe, which included Nanjiani as Booster Gold. When asked if this was a confirmation of Nanjiani’s casting, Gunn responded with a clear “no.

Dcu has plenty of projects in development, just one of many is a TV series focusing on Booster Gold. We know nothing about the show at this point, only that it’s been announced. However, James Gunn recently said that just beacuse something was announced, doesn’t mean it’s going to get released.
A couple of months ago, credible sources started reporting that ‘Eternals’ actor Kumail Nanjiani has been cast in the role. Fans were disappointed since Nanjiani doesn’t physically fit with the role.
Especially in light of the fact that actors such as Antony Starr and Chris Pratt have been put as the favorites for the role by fans. Nanjiani has been often seen with James Gunn and the cast of ‘Superman’ at other events which further strengthened the speculations.

Acting has become a profession that everyone likes to try their hands on. This is not exclusive to those who wish to see themselves get famous, as some of the most successful names in the industry have tried their hands in a film or two. Naturally, the One Direction icon, Harry Styles, also joined this trend and has been starring in projects here and there.

He has been in many well-known projects, ranging from Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, Marvel’s Eternals, and most famously, Don’t Worry Darling. However, it would seem that these few projects weren’t enough for the actor. It was reported that the star was supposed to be a part of the remake of Nosferatu.
Thankfully, this was not seen through, and Nicholas Hoult ended up replacing the singer.

Angelina Jolie will receive the Maltin Modern Master Award at the 40th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the festival announced on Wednesday. Her latest film, “Maria,” which was directed by Pablo Larraín and in which she plays famed opera singer Maria Callas, will be released in select theaters on Nov. 27 before streaming on Netflix on Dec. 11.
The Maltin Modern Master Award is named after film critic Leonard Maltin, who has been a moderator at the Santa Barbara film festival for many years, and it recognizes an “individual who has enriched our culture through accomplishments in the motion picture industry,” according to the festival. “Angelina Jolie makes bold choices, both as an actress and as a director,” Maltin said via statement. “She sets the bar high in both disciplines and always comes through.”

Marvel Studios has been leading the box office charts for a long time. But now, it appears that the studio may be expanding its storytelling from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) into the gaming industry.
An official game in the MCU would be pretty crazy. | Image Credit: NetEase Games
According to a new report, Marvel Studios is reportedly developing its first video game that will take place directly within the MCU. While Marvel-based video games have been popular for years, this new project would mark the first time a game is officially tied to the MCU. But let’s hope in advance that it doesn’t turn out like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
The MCU Could Make a Grand Entry Into Gaming
The MCU has become a cultural phenomenon with its interconnected films and Disney+ series. But Marvel Studios has largely avoided blending its cinematic universe with the gaming side of things.

DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn has once again shared some big Dcu updates, and while he didn't exactly confirm we're getting a Superman trailer before the end of the year, the filmmaker certainly didn't deny it!
There have been rumblings for a while that the Dcu might be showcased at Ccxp in Brazil this December and it would be smart to end the year by showcasing the new Man of Tomorrow.
For now, though, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

A few months ago, there were rumours that Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani might be the Dcu's Booster Gold. We've heard nothing more since and the trades haven't shared any updates on the planned TV series.
After posting a fan-made image with Nanjiani pictured alongside Booster, Gunn was quick to point out that his sharing it wasn't meant to confirm any casting reports.

‘Booster Gold’ is among the many live-action shows slated for the Dcu in the coming years as part of ‘Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters.’ Although details about the series are limited, James Gunn recently stated that production is not set to begin anytime soon.
As always, fans have expressed their preferences for actors to portray the titular character. Antony Starr and Chris Pratt were considered strong candidates due to their connections to Gunn and their physical resemblance to Booster Gold, but these rumors have now been dismissed.

MCU has managed to somewhat recover following the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ in terms of interest and box office. The fact however still remains that we have too many heroes whose storylines have not been touched for years now and too many elements in the MCU that have been ignored.
The most ambitious crossover storyline ever told on the big screen has in the last few years devolved into a bloated mess, with each new installment building upon loose ends and logical inconsistencies.
This is why, for a few years now, it’s been rumored that the MCU is being set up for a reboot, and what better opportunity to reboot the whole universe than ‘Secret Wars’?
According to several sources, MCU is heading toward a reboot. In his latest October Ama Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus, however, revealed that it’s going to be a soft reboot rather than a hard reboot.

Keep scrolling for more.
It was released in 1995 and is part of director Robert Rodriguez’s Mexico trilogy. Naderas played the role of El Mariachi in this American neo-western action film, and Salma played the role of the Mexican bookstore owner, Carolina. As many already know, Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali is set to star in Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated film Blade. However, with the project currently in a strange development phase, it’s hard to predict the outcome or even whether the movie will be released at all.
Fans are eager to see Blade come to life, but at this point, the studio’s decision is what truly matters. Despite the uncertainty, it seems Marvel hasn’t given up on the project. In fact, the recent success of Agatha All Along might be laying the groundwork for Blade‘s larger lore.
In Episode 4, titled “If I Can’t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You,” a character references a healing vampire bite, a clear nod to the Blade comics and further confirmation that vampires exist in the MCU. Could this be a sign of what’s to come? Read on to find out!

As everyone knows, Mahershala Ali, the Oscar-winning actor, will be starring in the much-awaited Marvel Studios film Blade. However, because the project is currently in a very strange stage of development, it is impossible to forecast the outcome or even whether the movie will be released at all.
Of course, the fans want to see the movie, but we think that we’re beyond the point where anything save for the studio’s decision actually matters. In light of that fact, it seems that Marvel is not actually giving up on the project, as the studio’s recent hit series, Agatha All Along, might be setting up the larger Blade lore.
Namely, in Episode 4 of the series, titled “If I Can’t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You,” one of the characters mentioned a healing vampire bite. This is a pretty straightforward reference to the lore of the Blade comics,...

Blade has long been one of the most fan-beloved characters from the MCU, with his unique superhuman abilities making him stand distinctive in fans’ eyes. While his live-action adaptations to date may not done justice to him (with the titular film from 1998 and Deadpool & Wolverine being exceptions), Mahershala Ali is widely expected to deliver him as per fans’ expectations.

Of course, this seems likely after considering how Ali’s previous appearance in Eternals was liked by the fandom. At the same time, fans might not be able to see some elements from the original film getting materialized into this. For instance, one of the best scenes from Wesley Snipes’ film, which even led to a lawsuit, could never be recreated in this upcoming film: The Bloodbath scene!

Speculation surrounding a potential ‘World War Hulk’ movie has lingered for years without any clear outcomes. Recently, Mark Ruffalo disclosed that Marvel Studios never planned to develop a solo film for him, primarily due to intricate rights complications resulting from a prolonged conflict with Universal.
However, the inability to produce a standalone Hulk movie does not preclude the character from evolving within other MCU projects.
Daniel Richtman, a prominent industry insider, recently asserted that the ending and post-credits scenes of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ are paving the way for ‘World War Hulks’ while also tying into the broader Multiverse Saga.
It seems that connections to both ‘World War Hulks’ and the Multiverse were introduced during extensive reshoots, as the original version of the film did not resonate well with test audiences.
So, what evidence supports this theory? Currently, we only have rumors to rely on since nothing has been officially confirmed.

Rumors about a ‘World War Hulk’ movie have persisted for years without resolution. Recently, Mark Ruffalo revealed that Marvel Studios never intended to produce a solo film for him, primarily due to complex rights issues stemming from a long-standing dispute with Universal.
The fact that Hulk can’t get a solo movie however doesn’t mean that character won’t continue to evolve in other MCU projects.
Daniel Richtman, a notable industry insider recently claimed that the ending and the post-credits scenes for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is setting up ‘World War Hulk’ and connects more to the Multiverse Saga.

Comic book films, especially those that came out of Marvel, owe a lot to Blade. Blade, the first proper success that Marvel had at the box office, was set to be much bigger than what audiences ended up getting.

However, there was a time when the director of the film, Steven Norrington, was the hottest director on the market, being offered everything from The Avengers to The Hulk. Peter Frankfurt, Wesley Snipes, and David Goyer, the producer, Star, and screenwriter of the film respectively sat down to reveal why exactly did the director of the first film turned all that down. Other members of the crew, such as Stephen Dorff were also present to record the oral history of the film, with EW.

Marvel Studios and Disney Plus have been going hand-in-hand with each other since 2021. The Hollywood juggernaut turned its attention to the small screen after the conclusion of its Infinity Saga, determined to build out the world even further through the use of streaming television. It accomplished that with the launch of WandaVision, which has led to the arrival of ten more Disney Plus shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (including that original show's spinoff Agatha All Along).
There is no doubt about it, the MCU is a much bigger, more expansive place with the original series adding to the lore. Not all have achieved the same levels of success, but they have all reached different corners of the TV fandom that maybe wouldn't have jumped on-board the MCU ship otherwise. From WandaVision's sitcom episodes to the comedy of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, there has been something there for everyone.
