INTERACTIVE LEARNING ON MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
This online course is designed to explain in a simple way how magnetic resonance imaging works. This program has been awarded by the SFR (Radiological Society of France).
Understanding MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging is a rapidly developing imaging modality, both technologically and in its clinical application. This growth is due to the originality of its foundations, at the crossroads of nuclear physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology and physiology. It is these technical characteristics that differentiate it from other medical imaging modalities. They give it multiple capabilities: morphological imaging with high tissue contrast, functional imaging of movement, flow, perfusion or even chemical composition.
Knowing the Basics of MRI for interpretation
The understanding of the phenomena involved in obtaining an MRI image is fundamentally important in many areas of medicine:
1/ in clinical practice, to identify what is being explored, optimize the examination and interpret it in a relevant way;
2/ in research, to improve and accelerate existing techniques or develop new applications by exploiting its multiple capacities.
Basic knowledge required for interpretation of MRI scans
The aim of this tutorial is to explain how an image is obtained, from quantum physics to advanced applications and the latest technological developments in MRI. The choice of the electronic medium, in the form of a website, is based on its possibilities of interactivity, pedagogical innovation and wide dissemination of information that can be updated in real time.
