Good valueBillyQuality is pretty decent, assembly is relatively easy even for one person. Some pieces came with minor marks and scuffs, if that matters to you. It does not have holes pre-drilled for any inserts and is likely not appropriate for 2 inserts side by side due to bad screws that come with those and the too thin separating pieces.4

DisappointedGenelleI love the Kallax, my son has some and swears by them. They have so many uses and the concept is excellent. Unfortunately, the quality of these is not great. One of the screw holes won't work properly, the screw just keeps eating the inside out and it won't tighten properly. Also one of the dowels went through the veneer on the side of the cabinet. The whole thing is very fragile. I really don't think I could buy any more of these from Ikea even though I love the flexibility of this unit, I don't want to take the chance. 3

Unbelievable Value, PamelaI eventually bought 7 of these book shelves. I have a small one bedroom apartment downsizing and could not get rid of my books. I used 4 as book shelves, one in the kitchen for books and display items, and 2 in kitchen laying down side by side so 2 rows of 8, masses more bench space and as said in my previous review the Dronjons in the 8 bottom spaces gave me 8 huge drawers for all my gadgets and bowls. Just a wonderful product.5

Lovely size & clean linesDianaI had an old wire-framed, modular wardrobe that I had jerry-rigged into a set of shelves with baskets & boxes of various sizes & colours for bedroom storage. It was hideous!! So, I searched out potential replacement & Ikea had just put on the Kallax sale. So, I was able to get the shelf set & additions for great prices! I have filled it with 2 drawer sets, one X-divider, a glass shelf, and 4 red Dröna boxes. It looks fabulous with my white Hemnes dressing table that I purchased the year before. And the red adds a lovely accent to the white walls and furniture. Great option for organising in any room!5
