North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives' Annual Meeting

Thursday, the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives will honor Senator Hoeven at their annual meeting with the Helping Hand Award. The award is given to public servants and policy makers who demonstrate strong leadership in helping Rural Electric Cooperatives obtain their policy goals.

Hoeven is receiving this honor for his efforts to give companies flexibility in meeting standards set in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan, enable rural electric power cooperatives and their members to continue using large, energy-efficient water heaters in “demand response” conservation programs and working to secure funding for critical infrastructure improvements for rural electric cooperatives.
