Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Burgum hosted the eighth annual Recovery Reinvented at the Bismarck Event Center, encouraging participants to build on the progress made over the past eight years toward eliminating the shame and stigma of the disease of addiction and helping individuals find hope in recovery.

Gov. Doug Burgum along with North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism and Marketing Director Sara Otte Coleman and others celebrated the opening of the Good Bear Bay Lodge at Indian Hills Resort, a unique new lodging option on the shores of Lake Sakakawea.

The Office of the First Lady invites artists and craftspeople to provide handmade ornaments for the North Dakota State Christmas Tree. The tree will be on display in Memorial Hall at the state Capitol starting with a tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 5.

Doug Burgum led a North Dakota delegation on the first day of a trade and investment mission to South Korea, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the state of North Dakota and the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) to establish a partnership and promote discussions in energy technology research and development.

Gov. Doug Burgum announced Steve D. Scheel, board chairman emeritus of the popular Fargo-based sporting goods, apparel and footwear retailer Scheels, as the 50^th recipient of the North Dakota Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award, the state’s highest commendation for its citizens.
